Cabo has become a popular vacation spot over the past couple of decades. Some people come to see who is there and troll the restaurants, bars and beaches looking for famous individuals. Some are there for the water sports. Others are there to get the most out of an annual holiday. They plan on going beyond the village and arrange through agencies to take Cabo excursions.

While some may while away the time deep sea fishing or hit the golf links, others are making sort trips outside. There are many different types of Cabo excursions. Some represent pure adventure; others are simply to discover more about the desert and the neighboring communities. Among the possibilities of such excursions are the following day or half-day trips:

Desert Canyons: If you want to catch some of the native wildlife, head out into the desert. Some professional Cabo excursions will drive you or guide you out into one of the area’s canyons. Some, such as El Tule canyon and Costa Azul canyon, are part of a tour package that includes several other activities. These range from visiting a wildlife preserve to bungee jumping, rock climbing flycatchers and zip lining. Out in the desert, you get a chance to view such desert dwellers as the greater road runner merlin, turkey vultures, falcons, flycatchers, hawks, ladder-backed woodpecker and cactus wren in their natural habitat. There are also bobcat, coyotes, foxes, mule deer, scorpions and rattlesnake. They live and hide among such flora as the cardon and cholla cacti. You can hire an ATV to help you get around.

Visit Todos Santos: Todos Santos is a small pueblo some 48 miles from Cabo San Lucas. It is home to the infamous-in-song, Canadian owned Hotel California. Around this centrally located hotel, you can find several artsy-type shops and galleries. Here you can purchase locally made crafts and paintings. You should also visit the Centro Cultural currently located in a former schoolhouse. Here you can view murals dating from around 1933 expressing various revolutionary and nationalist sentiments.  The art gallery/museum is also home to some regional artifacts including old photos and objects.

Cabo Excursions

If plan on visiting Cabo, be aware that the town is more than sea, spas and parties. It is a place that has a rich history. Moreover, if the nightlife and noisy crowds are too much to bear arrange to head out to the desert. You can visit the towns of Todos Santos. Climb up into the heights and see the view from Pedragal or catch the sunrise or sunset at La Paz. Make these Cabo excursions all part of your vacation.
